VIDEO CALLS
& PHONE CALLS - how to....
All my sessions are via video call or phone call. Its fast, easy and as convenient as your mobile phone or tablet or computer. How to have a video call:
In
case your interested - to ensure your privacy and
anonymity over the internet I typically use the
following services:
BraveTalk –
Brave is a well known privacy browser, that is well
regarded among privacy advocates across the
internet. It also provides a free video call
service, which does not require you to identify
yourself (hence more private than others). You
just need to use the browser on your device (what
you typically use when surfing the internet).
Its my go to video service and the one I will most
likely be using for our video call, as I have found
it to be most reliable & private.
Talky.io - Talky is a browser based video service like Brave. It does not track or record your call either and you can log on anonymously with it as well, same as Brave. This service is free and available as long as you are using the one of the common browsers like - Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari or Edge. Jami.net - Jami is a peer to peer service, which means your device talks straight to my device and not via a third party server, Its much more private & secure, as the video call simply goes between your device (phone/tablet/laptop) and my device (my desktop). However, you do have to install the app. So go to jami and download the app, create an account (which is held locally on your device), make up a name for yourself and then do a search for me (leighwilliam) and when you find me, send me a text via jami. I will accept the contact and we can then have a video or phone call. Of course, there are many, many other video services on the net, some quite popular – I just cant be confident of your privacy if you use them, as those providers require your data and personal information to sell on, as part of their business model. I suggest you do a test run. Jump onto one of the links above and setup your own video call. In the call you should be able to see yourself (which means your camera is working) and hear yourself (typically a sound icon will show up when you are talking). |
